If you feel like it has rained every day this month, you just might be right.
This July has been a record-breaking month for rainfall in the Binghamton area with 8.56 inches of rain recorded at the Greater Binghamton Airport as of Monday.
That amount easily surpassed the previous high set in 2004, when 7.67 inches of rain fell.
Binghamton recorded rain on 19 of July’s first 25 days, including nine- and five-day streaks in which it rained at least once each day.
The trend has been reflected across the Southern Tier, with July’s constant precipitation the bane of backyard barbecues, ballgames and camping trips.
