Binghamton receives $330,000 in funding for environmental project BINGHAMTON (WBNG) Governor Andrew Cuomo announced Wednesday that the City of Binghamton was awarded $330,000 in grants for an Environmental Justice Community project. Binghamton was awarded the grant for its Deco District Green Infrastructure to revitalize downtown. According to Cuomo s Office, the installation of stormwater street trees and bio-retention will help improve the water quality of the Chenango and Susquehanna rivers. The funding was part of a $12 million grant aimed at awarded projects that impact environmental justice communities, which were part of the Green Innovation Grant Program. It was announced alongside nearly $20 million in water quality grants, which were made available through New York State s Consolidated Funding Application for infrastructure projects that improve water quality.

BINGHAMTON (WBNG) The Binghamton Rumble Ponies play their first home game of the season Tuesday night. The team is partnering with the Broome County Health Department and the City of Binghamton to offer free vaccinations. The vaccines are available every day until Sunday and fans will get a complimentary ticket to a future home game of their choosing. Fans will have to go to the Rumbletown gates two hours before the first pitch. You ll not need a ticket to that evening s game to get your shot. Attendance will be limited to 20% capacity per New York State guidelines. Fans will be required to show a negative rapid COVID-19 test, a negative PCR test, or a full COVID vaccination before entering.
