Groton A Black History Month celebration to honor the life of Groton native Raheem Carter has been postponed to Friday due to the weather.
The event will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at the Raheem A. Carter Memorial Park at 105 Midway Oval. Social distancing and masks will be required. The maximum number of people at the event is 50. This Black History Month celebration event will include the Town of Groton Police Department Honor Guard along with a plaque recognition ceremony highlighting Raheem s impacts and contributions to the Groton community and beyond presented by Mayor Granatosky to his family, according to a notice.
