SPOKANE, Wash. Spokane police are investigating an auto-pedestrian crash on West Riverside Avenue between Stevens Street and Washington Street Wednesday evening.
The person who was hit was transferred to the hospital with serious injuries, according to Spokane Police Corporal Nick Briggs.
According to a press release, the driver is cooperating with law enforcement.
West Riverside Avenue between Stevens and Washington will be closed for several hours, the police request that drivers use an alternate route.

SPOKANE, Wash. The Downtown Spokane Partnership is holding two pop-up vaccine clinics downtown, one this week and one next week, that will feature live music, games, giveaways and prize drawings.
It is part of the push to drive up Spokane’s vaccinations to keep the county in Phase 3.
DSP is partnering with Washington State Department of Health, Spokane Regional Health District and the City of Spokane to get people vaccinated at these clinics, and have some fun while they’re doing it!

SPOKANE, Wash. On Wednesday night, the Spokane Public Schools Board voted 4-1 to build a new stadium in downtown Spokane.
It took three years to get to this point, but this stadium will now replace the aging Joe Albi site. The $31 million stadium project will pave the way for SPS to have a centralized facility for athletics, graduations and concerts. In addition, professional soccer will also be headed to the city in the near future.
There was a sense of relief for all parties involved in this stadium decision from SPS to the Downtown Spokane Partnership.

SPOKANE, Wash. Eastern Washington University’s athletic director wrote a letter to the Spokane Public School board in support of the proposed downtown stadium, saying she would like to discuss having two university athletic programs play there.
4 News Now obtained a copy of the letter from Lynn Hickey through a public records request.
In it, Hickey referenced her time in San Antonio, Texas, saying she saw the utilization of a public sports venue as a “tremendous asset not only to the city and professional sports, but also for both secondary and collegiate sports programs.”
