New Grocery Store Planned For Downtown Grand Rapids
Downtown Grand Rapids could be getting a new grocery store!
Dollar General describes DGX as a new, convenient and trendy retail option for metropolitan city centers:
DGX stores offer a smaller retail footprint with a curated assortment of grab-and-go salads and sandwiches, home cleaning supplies, an expanded selection of health and beauty products, home décor, electronics, seasonal products, pet supplies, candies and snacks, paper products and more all at everyday low prices that Dollar General is known for.
They say that some DGX locations will also offer an assortment of fresh fruits and vegetables and coffee stations.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. â Grand Rapidsâ Downtown Market will host five unique ice sculptures this upcoming weekend as part of the Valent-ICE event Feb. 12-14.
The Market is partnering with Downtown Grand Rapids, Inc for a sixth year, according to a news release Monday.
Ice sculptures will be located outside Downtown Market entrances and are themed to fit Market merchants.
There will be sculptures in front of Aperitivo, Loveâs Ice Cream & Chocolates, Pho 616, Slows Bar BQ and the Marketâs main entrance.

ORGANIZATION: Freelance visual artist and illustrator
At the height of the social unrest over the summer in Grand Rapids, Jasmine Bruce used her artistic talent to raise awareness and bring her community together.
The freelance illustrator helped to lead four different art projects that featured artworks by herself and other Grand Rapids artists.
Bruce was a part of the Womenâs Way Initiative, which highlighted four women leaders in Grand Rapids. She painted a mural of Harriet Wood Hill, who was the first African American police officer at the Grand Rapids Police Department. The mural of Hill is in the alley of Louis Street NW at the northwest corner of the Grand Rapids Police Department.
All of the World of Winter events are free, family-friendly and social distanced.
Downtown Grand Rapids will host the Hybycozo s at Ah-Nab-Awen Park. It s a series of large-scale installations and artworks that offer geometric exploration and patterns through light, shadow, and perception. You can see the artworks from January 15 through February 28.
Impulse on Monroe will take place from January 22 until February 28th. Impulse features 15 see-saws that light up and make sound when used by people. Downtown Grand Rapids will host Impulse at 555 Monroe Ave NW.
The Singing Tree at Canal Park boasts an interactive light show. You can interact by singing, clapping, or yelling to create an unforgettable and unique experience. Downtown Grand Rapids will host The Singing Tree in partnership at Canal Park.
