World of Winter festival returns to Grand Rapids with giant ‘icicles,’ light-up art installations

GRAND RAPIDS, MI The World of Winter festival has returned to Grand Rapids.
The festival, which kicked off Jan. 15 and wraps up Feb. 28, provides a host of outdoor art and entertainment activities throughout downtown Grand Rapids.
World of Winter boasts 15 interactive art exhibitions, including the Singing Tree at Canal Park, Winter Tumbleweeds at the Blue Bridge, and Impulse on Monroe, an “interactive art installation that consists of 15 seesaws that light up and create sound when put into motion by people.”
When it comes to checking out the festival, keep in mind that the exhibits feature staggered open dates for the weeks-long event. Check the festival schedule on the website for what exhibits are open on particular dates.
All of the World of Winter events are free, family-friendly and social distanced.
Downtown Grand Rapids will host the Hybycozo s at Ah-Nab-Awen Park. It s a series of large-scale installations and artworks that offer geometric exploration and patterns through light, shadow, and perception. You can see the artworks from January 15 through February 28.
Impulse on Monroe will take place from January 22 until February 28th. Impulse features 15 see-saws that light up and make sound when used by people. Downtown Grand Rapids will host Impulse at 555 Monroe Ave NW.
The Singing Tree at Canal Park boasts an interactive light show. You can interact by singing, clapping, or yelling to create an unforgettable and unique experience. Downtown Grand Rapids will host The Singing Tree in partnership at Canal Park.
