Finding good news this year has been tough! There are real public health challenges that surround us and basic unmet needs like rent, food insecurity, and jobs that remain. Everyone has been impacted in small and big ways. In this difficult time, we asked members of the business community to share their good news glimmers of hope or inspiration to show how some of the bright spots, even amidst the real challenges in front of us.

In what looks to be the largest development portfolio offering in Santa Monica in a generation, WSC Communities will put 23 mostly entitled mixed-use sites on the market next month,
The Real Deal has learned.
Marketing the land after the city of Santa Monica already greenlighted over 2,100 apartments on the sites is a stunning turn for WSC, which is controlled by the family of prominent Westside landlord Neil Shekhter. The company spent years assembling the parcels and securing entitlements, in a seaside city that even by Southern California standards is notoriously difficult to develop in.
Not an Ambassador
On Thursday, December 10 at 2:15 p.m.
Two SMPD Officers assigned to the Downtown Services Unit, observed an individual traveling southbound on the 1400 block of 6th St. on an electric bike. The Officers noticed the blue rims on the bike, along with the logos and battery pack affixed to the frame of the bike- similar to those used by the Downtown Santa Monica (DTSM) Ambassadors. The Officers watched the bike run a red light and decided to conduct a traffic enforcement stop. Upon further inspection of the bike, Officers contacted DTSM and were informed that the bike had just been stolen from the CVS on the 500 block of Wilshire. A DTSM Ambassador had parked the bike near the registers while doing his routine checks, when Suspect Vhatsan Kortrsombat took off with the bike. A records check found that Kortrsombat had a no bail warrant for a parole violation and multiple bookings and convictions for theft related crimes. Kotrsombat was ultimately booked on 21453(a) VC �
