Jay Sveum, deputy city auditor and human resources director, said he had made numerous contacts but had not been able to hire extra help for the cleanup week project. I have heard from the department heads and we will get it done, he said. The city is continuing to seek a few temporary workers for the cleanup week, Sveum said. Workers must be at least 18 years old and able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. The workers are paid $13.75 per hour and covered by workers compensation.
