City plans landscaping project at roundabout

Courtesy-City of Columbus COLUMBUS, Ind. – The city of Columbus is landscaping the roundabout by Mill Race Center this summer as a Bicentennial-endorsed project. The property located at the intersection of 11th, Brown, and Lindsey streets and Indianapolis Road is one of its main entrances to the Downtown Arts and Entertainment District. The Departments of Public Works, Parks and Recreation, and Community Development have been collaborating with Columbus in Bloom, which funds the project, to design and construct an aesthetically pleasing entryway without impairing the line of sight for traffic. Incorporated into the landscaping will be portions of the old railroad trestle in Noblitt Park. The beautification project will be low maintenance and feature a combination of stone, grass, perennials, and bushes.
