Conservative councillor for Ockendon has a word in Mr Perrin s ear

A word of thanks in your ear Mr Perrin IN May 2020, Mr Perrin wrote an article, specifically mentioning me, demanding that councillors who had intended to stand down, but whose terms were extended as a result of the cancellation of the 2020 local elections, make their intentions for the coming year clear.  This article really struck a cord with me.  Mr Perrin was right, I did need to make a decision.  So away I went, inspired by his sage advice.  After a few hours it became clear to me what I needed to do.  The logical path was clear …. I immediately joined the Conservative Party.

Thurrock Labour continue to seek answers over A13

Thurrock Labour continue to seek answers over A13 Labour’s Shadow Portfolio Holder, Cllr Martin Kerin said: “We are already 466 days beyond the original completion date of 28th October 2019 – and only days away from the revised opening date. “Next week’s meeting should have been discussing the opening ceremony but instead we are, once again, talking about more and more delays. This time, we being told the road won’t be finished until March next year, at the earliest.  “As well as being two and a half years behind schedule, Thurrock Conservative’s bungling of this project means it is more than £30 million over budget – money that, one way or another, Thurrock residents will have to stump up.

Thurrock Labour slam Tory-run Thurrock Council over budget plans

“Thurrock Conservatives are caught in a Double Whammy. “It is clear that government promises to fully fund the costs of responding to the COVID crisis haven’t been honoured and the controversial Tory investment strategy isn’t delivering the returns they promised. “As a result Thurrock Council is facing a funding black hole of over £40 million – and it looks like it will be council workers and residents that will pay the price as they look to jack up Council Tax by 5% and cut services like weekly bin collections, while axing jobs and cutting the pay and conditions of front line workers.
