They are all winners and champions, but Kyle Larson and Christopher Bell are titans, and their exploits over the last five years at the Chili Bowl Midget Nationals are legendary.

It took 13-years for Kyle Larson to win the Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals presented by General Tire, but it only took one to add a second Golden Driller to his trophy case as the California shoe led start to finish in Saturday’s 55-lap championship event.
Not without challenge, Larson had to fend off the charge of Justin Grant numerous times and Christopher Bell in the closing laps.
“To get two of these feels awesome,” said Larson as his son, Owen, hand-delivered the Golden Driller. “It was a different race than last year, but just thankful to get the chance to even come race here. I think a lot of us thought maybe we wouldn’t get to come run the Chili Bowl with the pandemic going on, so hats off to Emmett Hahn and everyone else with this event. It’s the greatest event in the world, and very lucky to be a part of it.”

The Chili Bowl Midget Nationals is dirt racing’s version of the WWE Royal Rumble.
In the Rumble, 30 professional wrestlers periodically enter the ring over the course of an hour, with eliminations taking place as a result of one participant sending another over the top rope.
In the Chili Bowl, instead of 30 participants, there s more than 350, and eliminations occur when competitors fail to finish brief sprint races within the highest percentage of the field.
The first main elimination race, typically lettered N or O starts at 10:30 in the morning, Eastern Time, and races continue in reverse alphabetical order throughout the day.

TULSA, Okla. - With slower traffic becoming a major factor in the closing laps, California’s Justin Grant managed to hold off the charge of Kyle Cummins and Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. for his fourth career preliminary night victory since 2017 on Friday’s Driven2SaveLives Qualifying Night at the 35th annual Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Midget Nationals at Oklahoma’s Tulsa Expo Raceway.
