Lexington man charged for driving with baby on lap while fleeing police

The Dispatch A 22-year-old man from Lexington was arrest on Friday after he allegedly held a child in his lap while fleeing from police. Want to know more about what is happening in Thomasville? According to information on the arrest warrant provided by the Thomasville Police Department, the man took an 8-month-old child from a house on Dillon Street in Thomasville and fled following a domestic dispute with the child s mother. Cpt. Brad Saintsing of the Thomasville Police Department, reported officers were responding to a domestic dispute on Dillon Street when they were informed the male suspect had left with the child in a vehicle.

Man accused of arson in Veach Street fire

Police arrested a man who is accused of setting his rental house on fire last month.  Donnie Allen Harmon, 33, was arrested Thursday in connection to a house fire on April 11 on Veach Street Court in Thomasville.  Harmon is being charged with felony burning of personal property, felony cruelty to animals, first-degree arson, two counts of felony insurance fraud and fraudulently burning of a dwelling. The house was fully engulfed in flames by the time the fire department arrived on-scene, according to a news release from the Thomasville Police Department. A Thomasville man is facing arson, animal cruelty, insurance fraud among other charges following a house fire. The Thomasville Police Department said  Donnie Allen Harmon, 33, was arrested in connection with a house fire on April 11. The Thomasville Fire Department said the house on Veach Court was fully engulfed in flames and was completely destroyed by the fire. The family wasn’t at home during the fire, but the dog died as a result. Fire crews said a neighbor’s house also sustained fire damage.

Old Kern Street School fire leads to arrest of Thomasville man

The Dispatch A Thomasville man was arrested earlier this week in connection to a December 2020 fire at the old Kern Street School in Thomasville. Charles Malik Setzer-Hayes, 23, faces the arson charge of felony burning other buildings in relation to the Dec. 31 fire, according to an arrest warrant.  Setzer-Hayes was previously arrested in connection to a fire on Nov. 2, 2020, at the old Kern Street School. In that incident, he was also charged with felony burning other buildings.  For the most recent arrest, Setzer-Hayes was taken to the Davidson County Jail on a $10,000 secured bond. He s scheduled to appear in court at 9 a.m. on May 26.
