Police: Teen’s death gang-related

Police say their preliminary investigations show that the murder of 17-year-old Christopher Cummings, whose body was found near his home at Achong Trace, Tunapuna, on Tuesday, was gang-related.
They say they are concerned that the killing might signal a resurgence of criminal gang activity in the area, as it was several years ago.
A police officer, speaking on condition of anonymity, said they are bracing for reprisals following Cummings’ death and in response to concerns raised by residents, mobile patrols in the area will be increased.
