Well, itâs that day when we all like to talk Irish and do other stuff like eat cabbage and watch John Wayne in The Quiet Man, hunt for four leaved clovers, find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow and in general celebrate spring.Â
Itâs St. Patrickâs Day! The Irish have observed this day as a religious holiday for over 1,000 years. On St. Patrickâs Day, which falls during the Christian season of Lent, Irish families would traditionally attend church in the morning and celebrate in the afternoon.Â
Lenten prohibitions against the consumption of meat were waived and people would dance, drink and feastâon the traditional meal of Irish bacon and cabbage.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day Quad Cities! There are so many great and rich traditions throughout the Quad Cities, Midwest, and America when it comes to this holiday. One weird tradition my family picked up was watching the leprechaun movies. A very interesting and diverse collection of horror movies starring an evil leprechaun!
The first Leprechaun movie came out in 1993. It starred Warwick Davis, who would play the Leprechaun for 6 of the 8 movies. It also starred Jennifer Aniston! She would not be coming back to this franchise. .
Some of these movies are awful while some are good fun, and have some great scares. Let s get into our list.
Leprechaun, in Irish folklore, fairy in the form of a tiny old man often with a cocked hat and leather apron. Solitary by nature, he is said to live in remote places and to make shoes and brogues. The sound of his hammering betrays his presence. He possesses a hidden crock of gold; if captured and threatened with bodily violence, he might, if his captor keeps his eyes on him, reveal its hiding place. But usually the captor is tricked into glancing away, and the fairy vanishes.

Spiral Director Still Wants to Make a Leprechaun Movie
Leprechaun franchise came in 2018 with
Spiral: From the Book of Saw, Darren Lynn Bousman used the excuse of it being St. Patrick s Day to once again make a plea to direct a new entry into the series. While the series itself has earned a cult following for its campy horrors, none of the entries have been received well by critics or at the box office, so it s unclear when the next entry could be developed, regardless of Bousman s involvement. So, Lionsgate. if
Spiral is a success, can we talk about finally letting me have the
