Central Pharma expects to begin production at its contract packaging and supply centre in Kerry later this year.
The UK-headquartered company first announced plans for the facility at the IDA’s Advanced Technology Building in Tralee in December 2018.
The project is supported by the Government through IDA Ireland.
Responding to questions from TD Brendan Griffin, the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Leo Varadkar said the company had experienced hold-ups in progressing their plans in part due to Covid-19 restrictions, which have delayed work on the site.
“The IDA has informed me that the company expects to begin production in 2021 and has given assurances that it remains committed to its plans for the site,” Mr Varadkar said.
