Dr Hinds compares Covid crisis to raging fire, as Dr Rowley announces new restrictions
Principal medical officer Dr Maryam Abdool-Richards today pointed to the stark data from Trinidad and Tobago’s current grapple with the novel coronavirus, as the government announced its third set of restrictions since the Easter weekend.
Two hospitals, the Couva Hospital and Augustus Long Facility, were at 98% and 100% capacity respectively, while Trinidad hospitals were at 70% capacity. Twice within the last eight days, she said, the Ministry of Health’s ambulance system was overwhelmed by the requests from infected persons who needed to be hospitalised.
Virginia health officials have been using modeling through the pandemic to help guide policy decisions, for example, deciding that field hospitals would not be necessary.

RICHMOND, Va. The Virginia Department of Health has launched an online tournament asking people to make predictions on the future COVID-19 pandemic and are offering up a reward to people with the most accurate guesses.

Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever is caused by a virus, the main transmission mechanism of which is the bite of the tick of the genus
