Dr. Aileen Marty, Director of the Infectious Disease Department at Florida International University, says this variant replicates quicker which makes it stronger and the carrier more contagious. Even if you re fully vaccinated, you can still carry and spread.
Marty says that while it seems like this is impacting more younger people, that s because vaccination campaigns started with the older population which gives them some protection.
The CDC reports more than eleven-thousand cases of the B.1.1.7 variant but add the actual number likely is higher.
