One of the benefits of landing a quarterback early in a recruiting cycle is that they can become an early face of the class and peer recruiter for your program.
For four consecutive years, the Oregon Ducks have used that strategy to bolster their class, recently extending the streak with the addition of 247Sports composite four-star quarterback Tanner Bailey, out of Gordo, Alabama.

For the past several years, Oregon has struggled to recruit the wide receiver position.
But Oregon bucked that trend in the class of 2021 with the best collection of pass-catchers in program history – and possibly the country.

EUGENE Two of the primary actors behind the assembly of Oregon’s best recruiting class in program history and its third straight atop the Pac-12 weren’t even with the program a year ago.
Cornerbacks coach Rod Chance and wide receivers coach Bryan McClendon were hired last Feb. 15 and April 17, respectively, each helped recruit three players to UO’s 23-member 2021 class ranked No. 6 nationally. Each landed a pair of players ranked in the top 10 at their position groups, which were Oregon’s biggest areas of need in this recruiting cycle.

EUGENE By any measure, Wednesday’s early national signing day was a resounding success at Oregon for a third consecutive year.
Mario Cristobal and his staff are turning identifying elite talent, recruiting players to UO’s football palace in the Pacific Northwest and putting pen to paper into an annual display of one-upmanship with themselves and beginning to build a talent gap within the Pac-12. Oregon signed 20 players throughout Wednesday morning to the No. 6 class in the country in the 247Sports Composite, another program-best.

EUGENE ― Oregon signed 20 players to its 2021 recruiting class, the best in program history.
The Ducks’ class is ranked atop the Pac-12 for the third straight year and No. 6 nationally in the 247Sports Composite.
Four offensive linemen, a trio of heralded receivers, three outside linebackers, pairs of tight ends, safeties and cornerbacks and an inside linebacker, defensive tackle, quarterback and running back made up the class, which has room to add between now and February’s signing period.
