HIGHLIGHTS
The third-generation BMW X1 has been spied undergoing testing ahead of its expected launch some time in 2022.
Up front the X1 has a wide grille setup, not the tall and narrow design seen on the latest 4 Series coupe.
The 2022 BMW X1 will have lift-up door handles, much the ones fitted to the upcoming 2-Series Active Tourer, i4 electric liftback, and range-topping iNext electric crossover.

The upcoming BMW 2-Series Active Tourer has been spied testing under a thick veil of camouflage yet again prior to its expected debut later this year.
BMW will position the 2-Series Active Tourer as a direct rival to the Mercedes-Benz B-Class and we know that it will sit on the same UKL2 platform as the X1, X2, and 1-Series. While the overall shape of the car won’t be to everyone’s taste, it will be clearly identifiable as a 2-Series and could prove popular among those looking for a practical and relatively compact vehicle without buying one of BMWs crossovers or SUVs.
