Several local governments in Taiwan have organized Christmas-themed events with light shows and Christmas trees, even though it is not an official holiday here.
One of the most popular holiday events in Taiwan is Christmas Wonderland in New Taipei, which started on Nov. 13 and will run to Jan. 3, 2021.

Now in its 10th year, this year s Christmas Wonderland is using Disney characters as the theme for its light shows and decorations, according to the city government.
The event is centered in the area outside New Taipei City Hall, with market fairs and concerts planned. The city government, however, canceled activities starting on Dec. 22, except for the light shows, when Taiwan reported its first domestically transmitted COVID-19 case since April.
