Publix Pharmacy Recognizes Associates with Rxcellence Award

Publix Pharmacy presented 15 pharmacy associates with the Rxcellence Award for excelling in customer service, performance, ownership and teamwork. The award was given to one pharmacist and one technician from each of the company’s five divisions, one pharmacy supervisor and four pharmacy support associates.
“Last year, our pharmacy associates continued to exceed customer expectations in the face of changing processes and conditions,” said Publix Vice President of Publix Pharmacy Dain Rusk. “This award is just one way to thank those associates who went above and beyond, even while facing the challenges of a pandemic. Some Publix grocery store pharmacies will start giving out COVID-19 vaccine shots to eligible groups, Florida Gov. Ran DeSantis said recently, per ClickOrlando.com.
Officials said all available appointments have been reserved. So that was quick.
Officials said more appointments will be made available once all the shots have been administrated.
Publix Vice President of Pharmacy Dain Rusk said each store with the vaccine will vaccinate about 120 people per day. The grocery store chain later said shots will begin the same day that the appointments were made, according to ClickOrlando.com. Related

The announcement comes as experts have called on CVS, Walgreens and other pharmacies in the United States to start giving out the vaccine shots in order to get as many people vaccinated as possible, as I explained for the Deseret News.
“It’s our privilege to work with Governor DeSantis as a distributor of this important vaccine,” Publix Vice President of Pharmacy Dain Rusk said in the release. “We look forward to a time when everyone who wants a vaccination is able to receive one.”
Florida Department of Health in Marion County officials said that DeSantis did not inform the agency that he would be in town. The governor held a news conference at the Canopy Oaks Publix on State Road 200 at about 3 p.m. Tuesday.
