Video grab of the incident Vadodara: Two minor girls were beaten up and abused in public by a mob in Dahod district. An offence regarding the incident was registered after a video of the episode went viral on social media. Eight people were arrested in connection with the offence. The incident took place at the Bhuvero village of the Dhanpur taluka. This is the third incident of its kind to take place in the district in July and the second one in Dhanpur. The video shows a group surrounding two teenage girls and shouting at them. Some members of the group also beat up the two girls and manhandled them.

The Devgadh Baria police have arrested five men including the woman’s husband Mahesh Patel, a resident of Koyda village. The police said that Mahesh’s wife Manisha was allegedly in relationship with Dilip Patel, a resident of Uchvan village in Devgadh Baria. “Manisha has been staying with Dilip for last six months and is pregnant. She had also filed a case in the court demanding maintenance from her husband,” the police said. Mahesh was upset with Manisha as she was reportedly not turning up for the hearings.

Vadodara: A team of Dahod district officials was attacked by villagers in Bara village of Devgadh Baria taluka when they had gone to stop a fair being organized in violation of Covid-19 rules. Two deputy mamlatdars - Keyur Rana and Ratansinh Baria - had gone to the village after Rana received information regarding the large gathering where 200-300 persons were present. Rana took the nod of his senior and went to the village along with Baria. Rana has stated in an offence registered with the Sagtala police station on Thursday evening that when he and Baria reached the spot in an official vehicle late on Wednesday night, they saw a large crowd gathered there. The event was organized by brothers Chandu Nayak, Kanti Nayak and Mangu Nayak along with their sons.

16 jail inmates test positive | Vadodara News

Vadodara: Sixteen inmates of the Devgadh Baria sub-jail in Dahod district tested positive for Covid-19 during a drive in the prison. They have been isolated in the prison itself. According to sources, the inmates undergo a medical test every week. As a part of the examination, the medical team conducted rapid Covid-19 testing drive on Wednesday on the 104 inmates. Those who tested positive were immediately isolated in a different enclosure within the jail.
