COLOMBO, Sri Lanka Sri Lankan churches once again have halted services, church weddings and Sunday schools due to a third wave of COVID-19 infections.
Ucanews.com reported universities, schools and pre-schools have closed until further notice. All funerals have been limited to 25 people in attendance.

After months of speaking out against inequity in COVID-19 capacity guidelines, the Archdiocese of Montreal was finally gifted some good news from the Quebec government.
As of March 26, and just in time for Holy Week, up to 250 people can now visit places of worship a monumental increase from the limit of 10 that existed before.
Archbishop Christian Lépine expressed gratitude that “government leaders and public-health officials recognize that care of the soul is as essential for every human person as is care of the body.”

With rising COVID-19 cases across Ontario, the provincial government has implemented a province-wide “emergency brake” that will lower capacity for worship services.
The move comes shortly after areas outside of Toronto and Peel Region had been allowed to welcome up to 30-per-cent capacity in churches. That has now been scaled back to 15-per-cent capacity, which Toronto and Peel churches were allowed following the Archdiocese of Toronto-led “A Place to Worship” campaign to loosen restrictions from a hard cap of 10 people, including pastor, at worship services.
