Hickory Man Faces Marijuana & Firearms Charges

20-year-old Raequan Dayshon McCombs of Angel Lane in Troutman was arrested by Hickory Police shortly after ten o’clock Saturday night (April 24) on felony counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver a schedule VI controlled substance and maintaining a vehicle, dwelling, or place for a controlled substance. He was also charged with misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and carrying a concealed gun.
McCombs was arrested after Officers responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle at the Silver Springs Terrace Apartments on 20th Street N.E. in Hickory. During the investigation, Officers reportedly found 13 grams of marijuana, $1,162 in cash, a Glock 9mm handgun, and drug paraphernalia.

A Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) project that hopes to reduce the number of crashes along U.S. Route 63 in Boone County will result in the closure of Minor Hill Road on Wednesday.
The closure will last for a week. In addition, contractors plan to also close Angel Lane at Route 63 on next Monday. Angel Lane will be closed at that location for a week too.
Once the work is completed in that area, the median crossovers currently at those intersections will be permanently closed.
On Wednesday, April 21, MoDOT will close down Minor Hill Road until Wednesday, April 28.
Additionally from Monday, April 26 to Monday, May 3, Angel Lane will be closed.
The red line indicates Minor Hill Road. The blue line indicates Angel Lane. Both are south of Columbia, near the Columbia Airport.Â
Once the work is completed in that area, the median crossovers currently at those intersections will be permanently closed.
Deceleration lanes, acceleration lanes and other intersection reconfigurations, including J-turns, are being built at these locations.
Similar configurations are planned for Martin Lane, New Salem Lane, and Loy Martin Road.
MoDOT asks that drivers watch for work zones, obey all traffic signs and allow plenty of room for workers on the road.

ASHLAND - The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission approved intersection improvements for Route 63 in Ashland on Wednesday.Â
The planned improvements will be between the junctions of Route Y/Route M and Route H. MHTC awarded the project to S & A Equipment & Builders, LLC, for $4,418,755.87.Â
According to an emailed press release sent by MoDOT, the project will consist of removing crossovers and improving intersections at Minor Hill/Angel Lane, New Salem Lane/Martin Lane and Loy Martin Road.Â
The improvements are scheduled to start in the spring and be finished around December of 2021. Lane closures will be required during the work hours. MoDOT will alert drivers when work season is set to begin.Â
