PLAINVILLE With an eye toward restoring some of the town s more critical services and positions that were cutback at the start of the current fiscal year, officials are proposing a $1.95 million general override that will take effect for the next budget cycle that begins July 1.
Selectmen have voted to put the override question on the April 5 town election ballot, eight months after a larger override was voted down at a special election.
The $1.95 million reflects the full cost to restore our most critical services and positions in town, Board of Selectmen Chairman Brian Kelly said in a statement.
