January 06, 2021OSSIPEE Covid-19 cases are on the rise in Ossipee. As of Monday, Dec. 28, the town was on record with 18 active cases and a cumulative number of 81 cases. Tuesday, Jan. 5, the number of active cases listed on WMUR s Covid-19 town by town list came to 13 with the total cumulative figure jumping up to 104.
On Jan. 4, the Town posted the closure of selectmen s offices until further notice. The posting is the latest in Covid-19 related notices, beginning with a post on Nov. 18 that read, Due to a spike in local COVID-19 cases, the Selectmen s Office, Bob Avery Gymnasium, and the Freight House Annex will be temporarily closed to the general public.

The Rhode Island State Police on Tuesday announced the arrest of a Central Falls man for the murder of a Providence man. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Rhode Island State Police in conjunction with the Providence Police Department, Central Falls Police Department, Texas Rangers and the Rhode Island Office of the Attorney General.
On November 26, a body was discovered at the former rest area on Route 295 south in the Town of Lincoln. The body was identified as that of Jose Segura, age 50 of Providence. Segura was reported as missing on November 10 to the Providence Police Department. The Medical Examiners Office ruled his death as a homicide.

Two Palm Beach County moms featured in People Magazine are about to add more tools to their fight against substance abuse.
Working with the county, they are hoping to change Delray Beach from the epicenter of the opioid crisis to the capital of long-term recovery.
Five years ago, Cindy Singer had to bare the most painful tragedy for a mother. I lost my wonderful son Rory to an accidental overdose and I had to figure out what to do and how to deal with it, Singer said.
