Syracuse, N.Y. Curtain up! The Redhouse Arts Center mainstage season opens in December with a safe environment for live theater that will follow all CDC and New York state guidelines.
Executive Director Samara Hannah said it is time to experience life with other people again. She attributes some of the organization’s ability to plan a season to the recently available Shuttered Venue Operators Grant, which is administered through the Small Business Administration.
Redhouse names Temar Underwood as Associate Director of Artistic Programming

Syracuse, NY Redhouse Arts Center has named Actor and Director Temar Underwood as its Associate Director of Artistic Programming. This interim position will allow Redhouse to be able to continue virtual theater programming until it can welcome back live audiences and launch a full Main Stage season again.
Mr Underwood will be act as an Artistic Lead on virtual theatrical programming as well as programming in conjunction with Redhouse’s Education Department and partner organizations. Samara Hannah Executive Director commented, “Temar was recently named an Associate Artist at Redhouse and we are thrilled to engage him further. He has always been a favorite of our audiences as an actor and director and has earned the respect of his peers and those he has directed. We look forward to working with him in the coming months to bring programming to our supporters as we wait for a time

Syracuse, NY Redhouse Arts Center is pleased to announce the two plays that will take part in this year’s New Works Festival. The first is “Esmeranda’s Gift (Or How to Make a Crossword Puzzle and Solve Your Life.)” by Donna Hoke and the second is “Repair of the World” by Paul Sambol. Both will receive a two-week developmental workshop and each will work with its own director.
