NAIROBI, July 26 (Xinhua) Kenya exported 50.76 million kilograms of tea in May, a marginal rise from 49.45 million in April, boosted by favorable weather in production areas, the Tea Board of Kenya (TBK) said in an update on Monday. The east African nation shipped the tea to 51 destinations, up from 48 in April, said TBK. During the month, tea production rose to 45.32 million kilograms, up from 44.29 million, with the board attributing the marginal increase to good rainfall conditions in growing areas in the first half of the month. Pakistan remained the top importer of Kenyan tea during the month, buying 20.2 million kilograms of tea exported by the east African nation.
