CAPE TOWN - An Atlantis man accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend remains behind bars before an expected bail application in two weeks.
Owen Steenberg (23) was arrested last week after 21-year-old Charne Viljoen s body was discovered in Saxonsea.
She d been stabbed several times.
On Thursday, his case was remanded to 27 May where he s expected to bring a bail application.

CAPE TOWN – The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) on Thursday welcomed the hefty sentence handed down to a sex trafficker in connection with the exploitation of a 12-year-old girl.
Augustine Obono, 44, was sentenced to three life terms behind bars in the High Court in Pretoria.
He had faced charges of human trafficking, rape, statutory rape and the sexual exploitation of a child.

Frederick Mhangazo appeared in the Cape Town Magistrates Court on Wednesday and was granted bail of R500.

CAPE TOWN - The Special Investigating Unit (SIU) said that government officials were hampering investigations into alleged COVID-19 tender fraud by failing to provide relevant documents or making themselves available to be interviewed.
This has forced the SIU to resort to issuing subpoenas to compel the errant officials to cooperate with investigators.
