With Rhode Island entering into its indoor track and field season, the state s performances have started to heat up.
And this past week, Classical s (RI) Cooper Michaud earned National Performer of the Week honors after his 1,500m win at the RIIL Class Championships in 4:07.84 and his third-place finish in the 1K (2:42.74).

Chanice Spicer has earned her third National Girls Performer of the Week honor after her performance at the AHSAA State Indoor Meet.
At the Alabama Indoor State Championships, the University of Alabama signee earned her fourth consecutive 60m title and set a personal best of 7.47. Her time ranks her as the fourth-fastest girl so far this season. In the 400m, the Brewbaker Tech (AL) senior clocked 54.35 to defend her championship title while also becoming the fastest girl in the country in the two-lap race. Spicer then headed to the long jump pit and leaped to 17-2 to earn her first state title in this event.

The Midloathian, Virginia resident racked up 652 votes and just over 46-percent of the tallies to rally past second-place Gavin Schurr of Fairview, Colorado.
And no doubt, Bourne s performance at the VA Beach Club Opener was impressive, with new PRs of 7.85 seconds in the 60mH, 22.22 in the 200m and 50.59 in the 400m.
