NEWTON It s at times difficult to not burn out after hearing story after story of child abuse and neglect, said Kristi Young, the executive director of Ginnie s House Children s Advocacy Center.
There are some silver linings and success stories, she said, that make it easier to live through the tough moments.
One such moment came as she sat in her parked car outside Ginnie s House on High Street in Newton. There she saw a little girl, about 5 or 6 years old, skip and twirl as she left the building toward her mother s car.

RED LAKE Equay Wiigamig, the women’s shelter in Red Lake, will host a Sexual Assault Awareness Walk this week to take a stand against sexual violence and show solidarity with survivors.
The walk will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 30, and begin at the Boys and Girls Club in Red Lake.
