US proposes first in-person Quad Summit in September
AKIPRESS.COM - Emphasising the importance of the Quad framework of cooperation, Biden administration has proposed to host the first in-person ‘Quad’ summit in Washington in late September. The gathering would underscore the unity among the four Indo-Pacific democracies Australia, India, Japan and the United States, The Japan Times reported.
U.S Secretary of State Antony Blinken is likely to visit New Delhi soon to discuss various issues including the Quad summit.
The Quad summit is expected to take place after the general debate of the U.N. General Assembly scheduled in September in New York. The first-ever Quad summit was held virtually in March this year.

The federal government would finally be able to hire specifically for “software development,” “software engineering,” “data management,” and “knowledge management” positions under new legislation before the House.
Over multiple administrations, the federal government has tried to get better at hiring and retaining tech-savvy employees but continues to meet challenges, including the lack of specific job roles for positions that are critical to creating a digitally-driven government.

The Pentagon s self-described sprint to put together a more effective plan to confront and counter a rising China may be over, but the race to stay ahead of Beijing s aggressive advancements in artificial intelligence is far from done.
That initial sprint culminated in June, months after the U.S. Defense Department s China Task Force recommended a series of internal, structural changes to ensure potential Chinese military threats did not escape notice or go unanswered.
Other major initiatives remained classified, though U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin is making clear that maintaining U.S. dominance in artificial intelligence, or AI, will be key.
