It seems matters are about to come back to the starting line, as it always does where Pakistan is concerned. After alternately denying and affirming back-channel talks with India, Pakistanâs National Security Advisor, Moeed Yusuf, has now been quoted as saying that talks with India have been abandoned.
India must strike to deter, any other policy for drone attacks will play into Pakistanâs hands

Drones captured the imagination of the Indian public last week by dropping explosives on a military target close to the India-Pakistan border. Fear ensued, with Pakistan and drones coalescing in the public perception. Terrorism has revealed another arrow in its arsenal, and India seemed unprepared despite threat recognition for several years.
The truth is, that even the US has not been able to evolve adequate defensive measures against this form of threat â small-sized, difficult to detect, terrain-hugging drones armed with explosives and, used in Kamikaze mode. US bases in Iraq and Afghanistan have repeatedly been targeted.

IN what can be classified as an escalation in violence, drones were used to cause at least two explosions in the technical area of Jammu airport, which is being used by the Air Force. Though it caused only minor injuries to two personnel, the incident could have been much worse. The drone could have hit a parked aircraft, resulting in a terror attack of no small proportion. This is a quantum jump in terrorist capability in India. No doubt about that at all. That said, it is not the drone itself that is the sole issue, but the intent and intelligence in how it is used.
