Low pressure: Heavy rainfall in many parts of Oman By: Times News Service Muscat: Ahead of the Al Khair Trough, a number of wilayats in Oman witnessed heavy rainfall including winds and hail storms, the Met department said on Wednesday. According to Oman Met, the Sultanate will be affected by a trough of low pressure on Thursday. Heavy to moderate rains fell in the Wilayat of Dima Wal’Ta’aeen in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate, as heavy rains fell in the Wilayat of Barka, Rustaq, Al Awabi, and Nakhl in South Al Batinah Governorate. Thunderstorms also fell in the Wilayat of Al Amerat in Muscat Governorate, and in a number of wilayats of Dhofar Governorate, and the blowing of a hailstorm with heavy rains in the Wilayat of Shinas and Suwaiq. While heavy rains in the Wilayat of Sohar in North Al Batinah Governorate, heavy rains in the Wilayat of Al Hamra and Jabal Al Akhdar in Dakhiliyah Governorate.

By: Times News Service Muscat: There is a possibility that the Sultanate will be affected by a trough of low pressure starting from 29th April and lasting till 1st May, 2021, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) announced on Tuesday. A statement issued online by CAA said: “The National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Centre weather analysis indicates that the Sultanate may be affected by a trough of low pressure (Al Khair Trough) starting from Thursday, April 29 to Saturday, May 1, 2021.” There is a possibility of rains of varying intensity, sometimes thunderstorms accompanied by active winds and hail in most of the governorates of the Sultanate.
