Legendary scriptwriter and filmmaker Dennis Joseph passed away on Monday (May 10). He was 63. The demise of the master writer has left the entire Malayalam film industry shattered. King of blockbusters, Dennis Joseph has been instrumental in shaping the career of Malayalam cinema’s biggest stars - Mohanlal and Mammootty and leading them to superstardom, through movies like ‘Rajavinte Makan’ and ‘New Delhi’.
Dennis Joseph’s last outing was ‘Geethanjali’ released in 2013. He crafted the dialogues for the Priyadarshan movie and wasn t active in the industry for the past few years. The scenarist’s upcoming film was supposed to be ‘Power Star’, which will be helmed by Omar Lulu. The duo announced their collaboration last year, during the onset of the pandemic and the scripting was underway.
