Northern Ireland s Hammy Baker Leads RS Aero Easterns at Dun Laoghaire 3rd July 2021 Strangford Lough s Hammy Baker leads the 14-boat RS Aero fleet Easterns after day one on Dublin Bay Credit: Afloat Fourteen Aeros were on the Royal St. George startline today for the first day of the RS Aero Eastern Championships, emphasising the fact this new single-handed dinghy class has truly landed in Ireland. RO Michael Conway of Wexford, operating in Seapoint Bay gave the fleet three windward-leeward races in 15-20 knots. It was a day for small sails. The 9 s struggled in the strong breeze and the 7 s were a real handful upwind, with the exception of Hammy Barker who made the most of the conditions in his 7 posting 3 wins with excellent upwind speed.

3rd July 2021 Royal St. George s Sea Biscuit (Marty Cuppage, Niall O Riordan and Barry Glavin) are lying ninth overall at the 2021 SB20 East Coast Championships on Dublin Bay Credit: Afloat Michael O Connor, Davy Taylor and John O Driscoll lead the 2021 SB20 East Coast Championships by eight points after three races sailed off Dun Laoghaire Harbour. Dublin Bay presented 12 to 18-knot breezes from the southeast with a mist and fine drizzle. Testing championship conditions for the 12-boat fleet were completed with a good chop, though the sheltered Seapoint racecourse protected the 20-foot keelboat class from the bigger waves on the Bay.
