Residents of Gatundu North in Kiambu County chased away construction workers from Sh24 billion Karimenu II Dam project, claiming they were yet to be compensated for land surrendered to the Government.
In their hundreds, the irate residents forced excavator operators to dig trenches at key points of entry and exit.
The group, thereafter, ordered all construction workers to leave the site.
During the Tuesday incident, police officers, who had been called to the scene, watched helplessly as the enraged crowd took control of operations.

Jennifer Wambua Murder Probe: Sh2M Withdrawn From Account of Deceased NLC Official
A probe into the murder of National Lands Commission (NLC) official Jennifer Wambua has taken a new twist after detectives established money was withdrawn from her bank account prior to her death.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) discovered that Sh2 million was withdrawn from her account two days before she went missing.
The money was part of some Sh2.7 million that NLC had wired to Wambua’s account to pay for supplies of goods and services offered during the launch of the 2021-2026 strategic plan for the commission.
