The City of National City raised a Pride flag over its City Hall during a ceremony held today. The modern version of the Pride flag, the Progressive Pride flag, was chosen by city officials to fly in honor of Pride Month.
This was a historic first for National City as historically, areas of the county outside of central core neighborhoods like Hillcrest, were not known to be supportive of the LGBTQ community.

As a result of the relatively small cases of blood clots, the CDC has recommended temporarily discontinuing use of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine in the U.S.
National City Mayor Alejandra Sotelo-Solis continues to encourage her residents to not let the Johnson & Johnson discontinued use dissuade them from getting either the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine.
