NEW DELHI: The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved the construction of a multi-modal logistics and transport hub at Greater Noida with an estimated cost of about Rs 3,884 crore. The project will be developed as a world-class facility that will provide efficient storage and transitioning of goods to and from the dedicated freight corridors (DFC) and offer a one-stop destination to freight companies and customers, a statement said.
The hub will not only provide standard container handling activities, but also have value-added services to reduce logistics cost, along with improved efficiency of operations, the statement added. The area near Boraki railway station will act as a transport hub with provision for rail, road and MRTS accessibility. It will also have space for inter-state and local bus terminals and metro lines.
Nagpur: The Indian Railways maiden draft National Rail Plan (NRP) released on Friday aims to develop Nagpur-Hyderabad (NHIC) & Delhi-Nagpur (DNIC) as industrial corridors under its National Industrial Corridor Development Programme.
The NRP released by Railway Board CEO VK Yadav plans India s most ambitious infrastructure program aiming to develop new industrial cities as ‘Smart Cities’ and converging next-generation technologies across infrastructure sectors.
The two industrial corridor projects are among 11 projects to be developed in four phases up to 2024-25. Apart from the two industrial corridors, the draft NRP also aims to establish a dedicated freight corridor (DFC) between North-South between Delhi-Chennai via Itarsi-Nagpur-Vijayawada.

VIJAYAWADA: Industries Minister Mekapati Goutam Reddy rolled out a red carpet for Japanese firms to invest in the State.The State will offer special fiscal incentive packages to Japanese companies setting up manufacturing facilities in Japan Industrial Township, especially for companies shifting bases from China along with their suppliers, he said.
“We have set up a dedicated Japan Desk to handhold and facilitate Japanese businesses into AP,” he said, revealing that another Japan Industrial Township will be established in the State. Similarly, a Japanese Enclave will be constructed in 10 lakh square feet in Visakhapatnam.
