ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) on Saturday categorically rejected Prime Minister Imran Khan s proposal of holding a referendum on Kashmir to decide whether the Kashmiris wanted to live with Pakistan or as an independent nation.
In their separate statements, the PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif and JI Naib Ameer Liaquat Baloch said that Imran Khan s proposal on referendum is deviation from Pakistan s historic stance on Kashmir.
Shehbaz Sharif slammed the prime minister for giving a proposal of Kashmir referendum. Imran Khan Niazi is deviating from Pakistan s historical and constitutional position by proposing a referendum, he said. He said the entire nation rejects anything other than Pakistan s historic position on the Jammu and Kashmir dispute and UN Security Council resolutions.
NLF holds protest

Islamabad : The National Labour Federation (NLF) on Wednesday staged protest demonstration in front of the National Press Club to press for their demands.
Addressing the protestors, the NLF President Shamsur Rehman said the protest was organised against delay in completion of the National Industrial Relations Commission (NIRC).
He said a number of cases of the labour community were pending due to incomplete NIRC.
The NLF leader said a summary for appointment of members of NIRC was pending in the government offices.
He warned the government that a large number of industrial workers would stage protest in front of the Parliament House if the government does not appoint NIRC members in the next few days.

Labour federation rejects budget

Islamabad: The National Labour Federation (NLF) while rejecting the federal budget for the fiscal year 2021-22 said the government has given no relief to the workers and the common man.
In a statement, the NLF President Shamsur Rehman Swati also rejected workers minimum wages at Rs20,000 observing that a family of five members requires Rs50,000 income to meet monthly expenses.
He said in a model of state of Madinah, there should be some uniformity in wages ministers, bureaucracy and workers Swati said the government also did not have any mechanism to control prices of flour, sugar and other essential commodities He also observed that reduction in duties on small cars would also have no impact on the lives of the poor.
