The company had earlier said that it will supply the messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccine only through government contracts. Pfizer shared that it aims to provide equitable and affordable access to vaccines for people around the world. The company charges $19.5 per dose from the US government to supply the vaccine. The European Union is under talks with Pfizer/BioNTech for a new contract for 1.8 billion doses of Covid-19 vaccines to be delivered in 2022 and 2023.
