Bajaj Auto ties-up with tech-driven auto to deliver water across households

Hyderabad: Janajal Wow (Water on Wheels), an internet of things (IOT)-based three-wheeler which has been approved for water delivery households, has received support from Baja Auto in its initiative. The former,
which was initially an electric vehicle has now entered into an agreement with Bajaj Auto to build a CNG (gas) operated variant and to support the implementation through their pan India sales, service and spares network.

JanaJal WOW has been recommended to all State Governments and Union Territories to accelerate their respective Har Ghar Jal targets. The Union Budget 2021-22 has recently announced Jal Jeevan Mission (Urban) to bring safe water to 2.86 crore households through tap connection through an outlay of Rs 2.87 lakh crores over next 5 years highlighting the importance of safe water delivery at each home.

New Delhi [India], January 7 (ANI): A total of 3.04 crore rural households have been provided with new piped water connections across the country under the Centre s flagship National Jal Jeevan Mission, informed Union Minister of State of Jal Shakti MinistryRattan Lal Kataria on Thursday. Since Independence till August 2019, a total of 3.23 Crore rural households (out of total 18.93 crore rural households) had tap water connections, but in a short span of 1 year alone, 3.04 Crore new connections have already been provided to rural households under National Jal Jeevan mission, Kataria said.
