HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) â If you are planning a major landscaping project at your house and want to hire a professional, be prepared to be patient.
Many local companies are overwhelmed by the demand right now. Usually Spring is busy, but we ve been seeing a big boom this year, said George Androney, Owner of Grasshopper Design.
Androney has been in business for 15 years and primarily services homes in Old Hickory, Hermitage and Hendersonville.
The annual initiative promotes the benefits of managed lawns and landscapes.
The National Association of Landscape Professionals, Fairfax, Virginia, is starting National Lawn Care Month with the release of a new animated video that educates the public about how healthy lawns and landscapes help fight climate change.
The video is part of a suite of grassroots campaign resources that NALP makes available each April to amplify the message about the benefits of managed lawns and landscapes.
This year’s focus on climate change is a joint effort of NALP’s Government Affairs Council, Marketing Advisory Council and Lawn Care Communications Committee.
What Are Chinch Bugs?
Chinch bugs are minuscule insects that live at the base of your turf grass, near the soil. They change in appearance over their lifecycle, beginning as bright orange microscopic nymphs and maturing into dark adult bugs that measure less than 1/4-inch long.
Although hard to spot with the naked eye, Mann says chinch bugs are most recognizable as adults. “They are black in color, about the size of a sharpened pencil lead and sport a white hourglass-shaped mark on their backs,” he says. “They scurry over the surface of a lawn very quickly when disturbed.”
