Spring Valley welcomes new sales, marketing manager
John Sergi brings more than 20 years of sales and marketing experience to the role.
JACKSON, Wis. – Spring Valley announces a new hire in the company’s sales and marketing department – John Sergi joins the organization as the sales and marketing manager.
“We’re excited to have John’s experience in the fertilizer industry, his background in managing sales in retail and overall skills as a team leader,” said Bill Vogel, CEO of Spring Valley.
Sergi brings 20+ years of proven sales and marketing experience. Sergi cut his teeth in the industry through his experience as a district sales manager with Scotts Miracle-Gro Company where he won numerous awards. From there, Sergi became the sales director of mass merchant accounts for The Liquid Fence Company where he managed high-profile retail accounts like Lowe’s and The Home Depot. NALP announces NCLC will be virtual this year
The National Collegiate Landscape Competition is scheduled for March 15-19.
For more than 40 years, the event has showcased the skills of college and university landscape and horticulture students in the United States and Canada, bringing them together with companies that are actively recruiting future employees.
With 20 “challenge” events, 17 educational workshops, the Career Fair, and career development opportunities, COVID-19 travel restrictions will change the way the event is traditionally run but won t cancel the event itself.

VP Racing Fuels makes business development move
James McVey has been appointed to director of business development.
SAN ANTONIO, Texas – VP Racing Fuels, Inc., announced the appointment of James McVey to director of business development to focus on the OEM business. James has a significant background, including 13 years of executive-level leadership experience, said Alan Cerwick, VP Racing Fuels, Inc., president and CEO. He has over 20 years of sales experience across a broad range of industries in domestic and international markets, and we can expect big things to come in a very short matter of time.
McVey earned a Bachelor of Multidisciplinary Science degree at Texas Tech University. He served as vice president of sales and marketing at GreenStar LED, where he led the conversion of high-pressure sodium street lights to smart city LEDs in San Antonio and other cities in North America and overseas. McVey resides in San Antonio with his wife and two children.
