Seeing Uche Nworah Through The Lens Of Igbo Culture

If there is any Igboman whose mindset is deeply rooted in what can in this context be called Igbo ‘Aku Luo Uno’ Philosophy, he is unarguably Chief Uche Nworah, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS), Awka.
While millions of Ndigbo in Diaspora take time off on annual basis, particularly during the yuletide, to join their age – grade, “Ezeudo” as his admirers are wont to call him has always been abreast with the age – grade system. For the sake of clarity, the age-grade system “Is an association of people of equal or about the same age, operating within a given territory or area with the aim of individual, collective and societal transformation/development”. However, the organization, structure and activities of age grade practices in most Igbo communities differ.
It is good news for Malta and Gozo that a National Cultural Policy 2021 (NCP) has been presented to the public for consultation. This is very positive for the educational and cultural system in Malta, and as education officers in charge of music, we have special interest in the fourth priority of this draft policy, namely ‘Improving artistic and cultural education’.
We feel that having a national strategy between the Education Ministry and the Cultural Ministry is a must. However, the process leading to it is important since all existing good practices and lessons learned from other attempts to improve artistic and cultural education should be taken into serious consideration.

RIYADH Acting Chief Marketing and Communication Officer at Quality of Life Program, Khaled Bin Abdullah Al-Bakr, has voiced appreciation for the Crown Prince s patronage of the National Cultural Awards closing ceremony, hailing the gesture as the culmination of the Saudi support to culture and the intelligentsia.
Al-Baker underlined that the National Cultural Awards is part of the Quality of Life Program’s initiatives carried out by the Ministry of Culture with the aim at supporting the Kingdom’s cultural sectors and empowering the Saudi male and female intellectuals and promoting their creativity and excellence locally and internationally.
