Wintry conditions will continue this week across Scotland, and northern England before the cold air pushes across the whole of the UK.
Snow and ice have already caused disruption this week closing some transport routes etc. National Severe Weather warnings have been issued throughout the coming week.
Here is a summary of the weather warnings currently in place for rain, snow and ice during the next few days.
Cold air from Scandinavia is sitting across the north of the UK for much of this week, while to the Southwest warm, moist air is pushing in from the Atlantic. Where these two air masses meet rain turns to snow.
Flood warnings have been issued to more than 200 areas across England, as the Met Office warns of snow and ice.
More disruptive weather is expected to sweep across the UK this week, with a number of National Severe Weather warnings issued by the Met Office for snow and ice.
The Environment Agency has also put 57 flood warnings in place, meaning flooding is expected in the area and 145 flood alerts, meaning flooding is possible and residents should be prepared.
In Dorset on Sunday waves of more than 23ft overcame flood defences at Chesil Beach, while last week saw the River Avon flooded in Evesham, Worcestershire.Â
