Dang Tung Son (CMC Telecom) Credit: CMC Telecom Just weeks after revealing it had become Google s first ‘Sell’ Premier Partner in Vietnam, Hanoi-based telco provider CMC Telecom has deepened its partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS), ascending to the level of Advanced Consulting Partner with the cloud vendor.  The new partner status was flagged on the AWS partner website on 24 June, according to the telco, seeing CMC Telecom completing substantial upgrades ahead of its own self-imposed schedule with two of the world s leading cloud corporations within the space of a month.

Dang Tung Son (CMC Telecom) Credit: CMC Telecom Hanoi-based telecommunications provider CMC Telecom has become Google s first ‘Sell’ Premier Partner in Vietnam, marking the company as the only telco from the country thus far to be certified as a Premier Partner of Google Cloud.  To get its newfound standing in the Google Cloud partner ecosystem – the top tier of the vendor’s three-tier structure, which includes Member, Partner and Premier – CMC Telecom experts needed to acquire at least 20 certificates and be directly trained and tested by Google in a wide range of fields including sales, sales consulting and technical support.

Iñaki Berroeta (TPG Telecom) Credit: TPG TPG Telecom plans to begin inviting customers to access its 5G fixed wireless services from June, the company’s CEO and managing director Iñaki Berroeta has told shareholders.  The publicly listed telco, an entity combining the freshly merged businesses of Vodafone Australia and TPG, has been accelerating its 5G efforts over the past several months, buying up additional mobile spectrum and rolling out 5G services to more than 500 suburbs in cities and major centres around Australia.

Iñaki Berroeta (TPG Telecom) Credit: TPG TPG Telecom and Optus are set to trial the national Public Safety Mobile Broadband (PSMB) network to improve access to information for emergency service organisations. The telecommunications providers will team up with network builder Nokia to create a proof-of-concept for the new PSMB.  According to the NSW government, which is backing the trial, existing land and mobile radio networks are unable to support heavy data traffic and web-based applications for emergency personnel.
