What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
Pinky and the Brain, Animaniacs, The Zeta Project, some of the Disney TV stuff I worked on. And a couple of unknown projects currently in development ( said with a Mona Lisa smile).
What would you say has been your primary job in animation?
Well… I suppose being a Producer and Director.. though time-wise, I spent more years doing boards and character design/animation.
What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
Lets see.. I had a job darkening contour lines and drilling wells on geological maps with a 6B pencil so they would show up well in microfilm so the oil company could shred the original maps. I had a job doing inventory on white mens’ patent leather shoes in a Houston department store.I was a projectionist at an art film series, which involved doing changeovers in Cinemascope as well as running 3 or 4 other kinds of projectors.
According to Ben Simons, Savannah has a safe haven, a refuge if you will, from the chaotic world we ve all found ourselves living in.
Simons, the new executive director and CEO of the Telfair Museums, said that haven can be found at any or all of the Telfair Museums sites.
Whether it s a visiting piece by Picasso (coming this year), an Italian sculpture, a self-portrait by poet and novelist Kahil Gibran, or a Regency-style 1819 mansion, all three sites of the Telfair provide a calm and unhurried bit of wonder.
Simons said that attendance at the museums has been steadily climbing, reaching about half of pre-pandemic attendance levels since the museums reopened in late June.
Former Savannah City Manager Pat Monahan and late philanthropist Richard D. Eckburg joined a select few members of the community this week as they were honored with the Oglethorpe Leadership award by the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce.
Presented Thursday during the Chamber s annual Business Breakfast at the Savannah Convention Center, less than 40 people have been honored with the award, which is named for Gen. James Edward Oglethorpe, during the Chamber s 214-year history.
Monahan joined the city as City Manager in April 2019 after former city manager Rob Hernandez announced his resignation. He retired last month. Prior to serving as the Savannah City Manager, Monahan served as the assistant Chatham County manager for 28 years.
