National Stud inducted into Hall of Fame at awards ceremony

The Irish National Stud near Kildare town was a big winner at this week’s Irish Thoroughbred Breeders Association (ITBA) National Breeding & Racing Awards 2020.
At this year’s Virtual Ceremony, the Irish National Stud was inducted into the ITBA Hall of Fame while the ITBA Next Generation Award 2020 was awarded to Clare Manning from Boherguy Stud.
The prestigious ITBA Hall of Fame award is in recognition of the Irish National Stud’s invaluable contribution to the Irish thoroughbred industry over many decades and for the contribution it continues to make; from the stallions it stands, to its world-renowned thoroughbred breeding course and the impact the stud makes as a national tourist attraction. On behalf of the Irish State, Minister for Agriculture, Charlie McConalogue accepted this most deserving award.

A world-renowned institution was recognised on Saturday evening as the Irish National Stud became the latest name to be inducted into the hall of fame at the Irish Thoroughbred Breeders Association s national breeding and racing awards.
This award acknowledged the stud s extraordinary and continued contribution to the Irish thoroughbred industry over many decades, from the stallions it stands, to its breeding course and the impact the stud makes as a national tourist attraction.
It joins an illustrious list, with recent names to be have been inducted including JP McManus, John O Connor of Ballylinch Stud and David and Diane Nagle.
