THE GAA HAVE stated that it was the HSE who made the call to nominate two players from the Clare hurling squad as close contacts to the Covid-19 cases in the Wexford panel.
The association’s director of player, club, and games administration Feargal McGill has clarified to
The42 that the Wexford team was not part of the process and says “only a public health specialist can make the determination of who is a close contact.”

Clare s GAA clubs have unanimously agreed to initiate a strategic review with the ultimate aim of developing a five-year plan for the Association in the Banner County.
A motion from the Eire Og club seeking the establishment of an independent committee to chart a way forward received the backing of both the clubs and the County Board Executive at an online meeting last night.
It was agreed that there should be one County Board officer on the newly-formed committee and that will be vice-chairman Kieran Keating.
The terms of reference and make-up of the committee will be finalised at the March meeting of the County Committee.
